Finding The Calm 🌱
The Gardiner Review #2
I’ve realised that calm isn’t necessarily the absence of noise. It’s the presence of something grounding. Something that gently pulls you back to the present.
For me, that can take many forms. It’s pottering in the garden with no particular plan, discovering somewhere new while travelling, or taking the time to savour a really good coffee. They’re simple pleasures, but they’re often the moments that leave the biggest impression.
None of them feel particularly remarkable at the time.
Yet collectively, they’re where the calm lives.
It feels rather fitting to be writing this now because, as you read these words, I’m planning my next trip to Italy. Think, wandering through hidden streets, lingering a little longer over lunch, discovering local flower markets and finding inspiration in places I’ve never been before. Sometimes the best ideas arrive when we give ourselves the space to simply observe.
So wherever you find yourself this week, I hope you discover a little pocket of calm of your own.
Perhaps you’ll find it in your garden. Perhaps at your local flower market. Or perhaps in a single stem placed in your favourite vase.
